Baby

It amazes me how much Josiah is absorbing without me even realizing it. I know he is listening to everything I'm saying and watching everything I'm doing and just filing it away for later use. Yesterday he shocked me completely. We were walking down the stairs and he pointed at one of the many pictures of him on the wall. I asked him, "who is that?" and he said "baby." I said he was right that it was a picture of him when he was a baby. I didn't know he knew the word baby, however since I got pregnant I have been pointing out babies that we see everywhere. Mostly because when I tell him that we're going to have a baby I want him to know what it is I'm talking about.

Today he blew me away. I don't remember if he said something about a baby, or if I just asked him this out of the blue. But I asked him where mommy's baby was, thinking that he'd point to himself or one of the pictures on the wall. He came over to me and lifted up my shirt and pointed to my tummy. I couldn't believe it. He is starting to finally understand that mommy has a baby in her tummy. I've been telling him this for the past 4 months, but I didn't think he had any idea what I was talking about. Thinking it was a fluke I asked him again and he pointed to my tummy again.

When Luke got home I had to show him. I asked Josiah, "Where's mommy's baby" and he came over and pointed to my tummy. Luke then asked "What's in mommy's tummy?" and Josiah said, "Baby."

Simply Amazing!!
