Sleep Training continued

I don't know if I've given a recent update on my sleep training, but it's been amazing!! I'm not one to endorse a book or a specific method of doing things. But this method has been amazing. It's not so harsh as CIO and you don't have to spend four years laying in bed with your child until they figure things out on their own. It worked! It only took 3 weeks for things to work out perfectly.

Bedtime is exactly how I've always imagined it would be. We take a bath, get our jammies on, potty, teeth brushed, read two books, say our prayers, start the music, turn off the lights, tuck-in, goodnight kiss, and leave the room. Luke sits outside the room for maybe 5 minutes to make sure he doesn't need a drink of water or another potty break, but then he can come downstairs and Josiah is normally asleep within 45 minutes.

Naptime is a little bit different but not much. We go through the exact same routine (minus the bath, jammies, teeth part) but he doesn't normally fall asleep as quickly. He will often toss and turn and talk to himself for about an hour to an hour and a half before falling asleep. Sometimes he doesn't fall asleep at all and at 3pm I let him out of bed. The rest will more often than not stop the afternoon crankies and I still get at least an hour to myself to either rest or get something done.

So now I feel like I've accomplished not only potty training, but sleep training as well. Let's hope I figure things out with this next one a lot quicker.
